Webb

Today we will celebrate the life of Webb.  And for the rest of our lives we will never forget the joy he brought to this world.

William Webb Monroe (Webb) passed away suddenly on October 22, 2011. Webb and his brother, John Robert Monroe (Jack), were born on November 28, 2008. Webb is survived by Jack, by his younger brother, Duncan Jeffrey Monroe (Duncan), and by his parents Jeffrey Robert Monroe (Jeff) and Harriet Settle Plyler Monroe (Settle). Webb loved to run with Jack, to jump with Jack, and to laugh with Jack – the most favorite and most constant of these being to laugh with Jack. Webb also enjoyed playing with one-year-old Duncan (whom Webb affectionately called “D”) and was always careful to hug Duncan gently. Webb sweetly and deliberately helped Settle and Jeff care for Duncan. Webb was a loving, sensitive, wild and sweet little boy. He will be missed greatly by his family and by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The family intends to honor Webb by making certain that the joyful spirit and laughter in this family returns in full force. They understand that this effort will require time and the help of their extended family and many dear and wonderful friends. The family finds hope in the fact that, though Webb was surrounded by love in his life, he is now experiencing the perfect love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Webb is also survived by both sets of grandparents, Robert Eugene Monroe and Heather Mapes Monroe of Raleigh, and William Webb Plyler and Sally Bussey Plyler of Raleigh. He is also survived by one aunt, Traci Monroe Weaver, and her husband, David, of Raleigh, and two uncles, William Johnson Plyler and Brent Bussey (B.B.) Plyler of Raleigh. Webb is also survived by three great grandparents, Beal Brent (B.B.) Plyler of Raleigh, and Rev. William R. Bussey and Barbara Johnson Bussey of Wilson. He is also survived by four great aunts, Ella Plyler Frantz and her husband, Stuart, of Raleigh, Susan Bussey Toms and her husband, Tommy, of Pine Knoll Shores, Marcia Bussey Eatmon, and her husband, Edward, of Wilson, and Diana Monroe Zandt and her husband, Bob, of Raleigh. Webb is also survived by two great uncles, Brent Plyler and his wife, Susan, of Riverton, and Dennis R. Mapes and his wife, Mary, of Deposit, NY. Webb is recently predeceased by his great grandmother, Flora McNeill Plyler. There will be a memorial service for Webb at Church of the Apostles, located at 333 Church at North Hills Street, Raleigh, NC 27609, on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and family at the church following the memorial service. There will also be a private burial service at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alexander Family YMCA WeBuildPeople Campaign, 1603 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC 27605. Arrangements by Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Saint Mary's St. Raleigh.
