our {not so} small group

Brad and I absolutely love the area of the country that we live in for so many reason- the weather is beautiful, with four distinct seasons- we are close to the beach and the mountains- close to family.

But, the people are the number one attraction.  B and I have the opportunity to connect with friends who come from all over to this area to purse their academic dreams.  We live in an intellectual haven and are surrounded by brilliant and inquisitive minds.  It is so fun and inspiring.

The obvious major downfall- this time of year is crazy sad because our friends are packing up and shipping out to pursue their careers.  It is always a time of celebration- each graduate has finished the race.  And every year, a few are on their way.

Last night we celebrated Jayme and Dan who are headed back to Michigan {their true home} so that Dan can bend some wire with the best of 'em.  Jayme is such a good sport to be along for the ride.  We have enjoyed sharing life's ups and downs with them and pray that there are MANY  ups to come for this sweet couple.

As a special treat, friends who have moved in previous years celebrated with us last night.  I pulled up to Sarah and Stephen's house and just felt warm inside.  And the group has grown... in adults and babies, sweet babies.

As we drove away, B looked at me and said, "I feel like we just got here {to the party}."  That is the mark of an amazing evening.  You cannot keep track of time, because you are lost in conversations that overflowed from joy.  Blessing we do not deserve- these dear friends.  We are thankful.
