So long Num, hello BUNNY.

It has been 2 weeks...and I still am a bit scared to publicly mention it, but I'm hoping we have jumped through the major hoops.

We took a 4 hour car ride with out one.
We watched another baby suck on one.

and...
we are still a Num (or paci) free home.  Can you believe it?  Me neither!

In the midst of raging ear infections, snot bubbles and screaming, Brad decided it was the right time to take away the Num.  Lillie was crying with or without the Num and Brad met his breaking point in being asked for it.  So, he just took it away all together.

And then he left me to put her to bed that evening :).

We sat, ate dinner and discussed how big girls don't need Nums.  By the time Lillie was in the crib, she was saying- no Num, no Num and waving her little finger like she was talking to my mom's dogs.

She scooped her bunny under her arm and settled into a nights rest- no crying, no big scene, nothing.

Amazing, isn't it.  And a once semi loved bunny who has slept in the Bear's crib since she was born found a new kind of love.  Bunny is Lillie's new best friend.

When Lillie is sad or scared she rubs Bunny against her check- it is adorable.  Bunny is also great at playing Peek-a-Boo or as Lillie says, "PeekBoo."  And Bunny surprises Lillie in funny places.

So long Num, HELLO BUNNY!

(As a note to myself- In so many wrongs, the thing we did right in this situation was placing the bunny in Lillie's crib from the very beginning.  It was an immediate and easy way for her to transfer her sense of secrurity and comfort from her Num to another object that was very familiar to her- especially in her crib.)
