keeping it real at 8 months

Mary Hardin is blowing raspberries, playing peek-a-boo with Lilllie, laughing laughing laughing and full of energy at 8 months old.

I had lunch today with two dear friends and one quickly reminded me that everything is a season and the seasons are really short in babes.  How true it is.

notice bunny - covering her eyes and hold Mary Hardin's hand.  shy shy bunny.

Well this season seems especially sweet to me.  Here are a few things about this little 8 month old Mary Hardin nugget.

1.  I marvel at her curiousity.  She wants to see everything and being a part of it is even better.
2.  She is into dropping things and watching others pick them up.  Thank goodness her sister is two years old and that is a game for her too!
3.  Constant smile.  Constant.
4.  She is eating really well.  We are walking down a slippery road of possible allergies and potential intolerance to certain foods, but the things she can eat she is doing great with!  And currently she loves eating - solids and bottles.  Happy eating experiences have changed my life.
5.  She army crawls very quickly and is into taking a few real crawls every now and then.  Her most favorite activity is "cruising" around furniture.  She is so happy to stand.

And because I like to keep it real.  Perspective is valuable.

Mary Hardin is sleeping in our guest bathroom.  She has been for about a week.  We now call our two bedroom, two bathroom apartment a three bedroom one bath.  She sleeps soooo much better when she isn't always trying to get our attention from across the room.  Actually, maybe it is me that sleeps better.

Along with a pack-n-play in the bathroom we are sporting boxes... everywhere.

We are moving!  So we march on to more space and new adventures.

Happy 8 month old birthday sweet Mary Hardin!
