November, Movember
I kicked November off with a birthday... although my fun was dampened by a sinus infection we still partied like I was 29??? WHAT???
That's right, see everyone laughing in the below photo. I turned 28 November 2, 2010. My mom was fully aware that I turned 28. However, she somehow missed placed the "8" candle that she bought when Kevin turned 8, and has been using for every 8 birthday since then. She literally digs these things out of this crazy junk drawer each year! Like Mary Poppins and her bag. So, mom's solution, put a "2" and a "9" on the cake and also put a single candle and say "Look, you are turning 29 MINUS 1 candle = 28". That is no joke.
Well, happy 29 minus 1 birthday to me!
Notice Brad was not photographed. He was in fact at this celebration, however, I've been doing my best to cut him out of all photography since it was MOVEMBER in our home and apparently all over the business school.
And tomorrow night, this month (and mocember) will finally come to an end! I could not be more thrilled. We will be attending the annual MBA Movember party, Brad will be participating in a mustache contest and then I will have my clean shaven hubby BACK.
According to the Movember website, "Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a mustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean-shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days." Read more about the movement here. Seriously, try not laugh because it actually is for a good cuase.
Brad is doing this to raise money for men's health, specifically the Prostate Cancer Foundation. So if your interested in supporting Brad in his Movember efforts, go here.
The most popular comment is that he looks older. Which he does. But he also looks creepy and kissing is very very scratchy. The funny thing is some people actually like it. For example, my grandmother LOVES it. I say, good riddens MOVEMBER!
