in her shoes

Would you believe it if I told you those were my shoes when I was a little girl?
Well you may believe it if you know my mom - she's into holding on to things.  I've never been so thankful for so many recycled things as I am now.  My mom goes up into the attic, or back in the cedar closet, grabs a forgotten treasure, gets out some cleaner and then shows up at my home with amazing finds like these little shoes, or church dresses, the play kitchen, a pull toy school bus, a baby stroller, a crate of wooden building blocks....

My mom has always been a believer in using things - and when possible she has also preferred quality over quantity.  But even the finest things in our home growing up were always to be used.  So it amazes me that so many of these toys and clothes have lasted all this time.  I guess it is true, things just aren't made like they use to be.

Thanks for the shoes Mimi - we are glad Lillie isn't wearing sneakers to church anymore.  Oh the life of an entrepreneur's child.
