pool trip #1 & #2
To kick off my spring break, we took family trip to the pool (pool trip #1) which was an epic fail.
It was raining last Sunday afternoon. We decided to brave it.
I got out the Bear's 2T bathing suit (hand-me-down). Slipped it on and realized that not only was it a bit snug, but her top half wasn't nearly covered. Hilarious, but inappropriate. I'm not sure how that suit was really a 2T because I have a small 19 mo old. Well, all of her is small except for her belly. And that is were our second issue came in. I remembered we had a hand-me-down sun shirt as well. So I decided that would do in covering our sweet little girl's top half. Well, it did cover the important part of her top half but didn't do much in the department of staying over her belly. If you can imagine- it was a site to see.
Then I pulled out my box of summer maternity clothes- out of the attic that is. Because that is where we store all of our clothes to give the appearance of LARGE CLOSETS. And I cannot find my maternity bathing suit. After searching all the possible boxes in the attic, we gave up.
Brad got ready- I grabbed the camera and off we went to the indoor pool, in the rain- with our daughter in a sun shirt that doesn't cover her belly.
After walking into the pool area we realized that everyone else in our community had the same idea on a rainy Sunday afternoon. There were tons of screaming, laughing, yelling 5 year olds - including a birthday party- at the pool. I was scared- LILLIE WAS TERRIFIED.
Doesn't she look like she loves it! HA!
After just a few minutes of Lillie clutching Brad's arms in the water with a death grip the lifeguard blew the whistle. It was apparently thundering outside- so the indoor pool closed for 30 minutes. And we left.
Luckily pool trip #2 of the season went much much better. So well, that I didn't even take a photograph because we had that much fun!
I got Lillie a new suite thanks to the Gap outlet. And I got me a new suit thanks to Target maternity- and we weren't forced out of the pool due to thunder thanks be to God.
This go around there were about 50,000 fewer 5 year olds in the pool (it was a week day), so Lillie was a bit more calm. We all lefted with prunee fingers and happy hearts.
