celebrate
My little Mary Hardin turned one. And today I dropped her off at school in sneakers and with only a blanket for nap in hand. How times have quickly changed.
As of her first birthday...
Height: 29 3/4 inches (26th percentile)
Weight: 20 lbs 3 ounces (70th percentile)
Head: 46 cm (75th percentile)
She is walking - started that in mid-May. She even tries to run, which always ends in a fall.
Says: Dada, thank you, and uh-ho (with the cutest O shaped face you have ever seen).
She waves bye-bye, gives big open mouth kisses upon request, and can sign "more" and "all done" - although I'm not convinced she knows what she is saying.
Teeth: Two on the bottom are in - and the two on the top are half in for a grand total of 4 teeth for uncle Kevin to watch.
She is down to a bottle in the morning and one at night that she mostly refuses - mainly because I cannot bring myself to throw away the last can of our liquid gold formula. When the formula is gone so are the bottles.
My little one seems to have overcome her dreaded milk intolerance/allergy (answered prayer!). And she also has overcome a potential egg allergy (praise the Lord). I'm a little hesitant as we try new table foods, but hopefully we won't see any new allergies crop-up. I was really over the moon excited to tell her school that we have no known allergies for Mary Hardin at this time! We have come a long way!
Watching Mary Hardin's eating ability has been a huge joy for Brad and me. We have had lots of parenting "ah-ha" moments as we just realized what the feeding therapist was trying to describe 2 years ago. We have also delighted in Mary Hardin's curiosity and interest in feeding herself and eating in general. It is hilarious.
Mary Hardin continues to be a good sleeper. She will go to bed at night just as early as you can get her there. These days we are doing well to have her in bed by 7:30pm. And she seems to wake up between 6 and 7am. Napping isn't her top priority at school, but in the quiet of her room she can find a good rhythm of a few hours of sleep in the early afternoon.
And although she adores her sister and her Daddy, it is evident that in this first year of life Mary Hardin is a true mama's girl.
On Mary Hardin's actual birthday we celebrated with a family dinner at Miltons! Yum.
