Mimi's Christmas
On December 17th we enjoyed our "first" Christmas at Mimi's house. It was amazing.
It is the tradition to put the angel on the top of the tree on Christmas eve. Growing up Kevin and me alternated years of placing the angel on the top of the tree. Lillie has enjoyed this honor for two years in a row now! Lucky duck. This year, we did it a bit early.
This is the sweetest angel tree topper you have ever seen. It is made on a toilet paper roll. This angel was given its wings in Salem, Mass by an individual with special needs. My mom has cherished it ever since she brought it home.
We enjoyed some delicious breakfast, warm company and thoughtful gifts to start the morning. It was a perfect celebration.
Cici even joined us! Love the Christmas apparel... brings back memories of my childhood. Those are little Kristin and Kelly hand prints. Hilariously, the next week my mom brought out a sweatshirt that was cut in half down the front to be a "cardigan" and had Santa in felt on the back. Obviously homemade. Too bad I didn't have my camera with me. Oh these grandmas....
And of course, Baby Day needed to eat too!
And then the Gilchrist family joined us for the traditional sugar cookie extravaganza. Lillie still throws her hands up in the air and yells Mimi at the sight of my mom. Here she is - loving life at Mimi's house. No mess is too big in Mimi's kitchen.
Apron reads, "Happiness is being a grand kid."

Lillie's cookie masterpiece for 2011.
